Overview
Topic: This month will feature two discussions. First, members from the Astronomy program at UW will be discussing their plans to build a small, inexepensive planet hunting telescope similar to the PANOPTES project on Mauna Loa. They will be describing their project and fielding suggestions from the group on cameras, lenses, and mounts for the project. In the second half of the evening, in anticipation of the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse, Roland White will be discussing the techniques required for photographing the corona during totality. Additionally, he will detail several good resources to use to get ready for the eclipse.
