Reminder for SAS 2018 Banquet

No General Meeting is scheduled for the month of January 2018, because the Annual Banquet at the Swedish Club on January 28, 2018, will replace the General Meeting. The Banquet event will begin at 4:00 p.m. with seating for dinner at 5:00 p.m. Throughout the history of SAS, General Meetings, usually scheduled monthly, have never been scheduled during the month of January, but instead each year the Banquet will offer a nationally prominent speaker and program along with fine food and camaraderie. Tickets and information are still available on the Banquet page of this SAS Website.  Please join us for this very enjoyable and informative event!

Cancellation for Green Lake Public Star Party

This Green Lake Public Star Party (outreach event) scheduled for Dec 23, 2017, 06:00 PM is officially cancelled despite clear skies due to unavailability of volunteers with telescopes.  Green Lake is a public park open to all, so anyone is free to go to Green Lake to view the stars on this clear night but should not expect to find volunteers with telescopes.

Reminder for SAS 2018 Banquet

Remember that reservations for the SAS 2018 Banquet on January 28, 2018, 04:00 p.m., are on sale here on the Banquet page for members and now for non-members.  Please plan to come out and join us!  Seating for dinner will be at 5:00 p.m. after a social hour at 4:00 p.m. A link for ticket purchase can be found under the map on the Banquet page, which can be accessed by the link under "Activities" on the home page.  Or more specific information about the speaker, topic, and menu as well as the ticket purchase link can be accessed on the January 2018 calendar page.  Click on the "Banquet" title in the January 28th date square on the calendar to see the updated Banquet page with link and current banquet information.

Reminder for Green Lake Public Star Party

This is just a friendly reminder that the Green Lake Public Star Party (outreach event) is scheduled for Dec 23, 2017, 06:00 PM.  The present forecast predicts partly cloudy skies, which makes observing dependent on the amount of cloud cover.  If clouds are too prominent on Saturday evening, check this site for cancellation.  If sky conditions allow observing, we need at least two people with telescopes as volunteers to be at Green Lake.

Topic: Processing workshop.  Bring your data and your questions!  If you've hit a snag in your processing, or would just like to learn new techniques to use with your data, come get help from fellow imagers (and help others, too)!

We will have several processing experts on hand to help.  Bring your laptop and some data with you and we will work together in small groups to answer any processing questions you might have.
