More Information

Denis, Zong, and David went to Pierce College at Fort Steilacom at 2:30PM for observation of the Venus Transit. We joined Dave, Ray, and a few other TAS members. Pictures posted below are Ray's pictures.

Ray, Dave, and I set up just in time to see ingress/Contact I but we didn't have cameras set up until later.
Denis took the SAS PST and a 10" dob with a filter. Zong had his Meade ETX with image projection on a piece of white paper.
I have the Celestron 8" SCT with a Baeder sun filter. I started with the 1-1/4 26mm and then switched to the 2" 40mm.
The view through the 2" was spectacular. It was easy to shoot pictures and I helped a lot of people do just that.

We had a great day and saw more than 500 people.
