Overview

The Museum of Flight has invited Puget Sound area astronomy societies and space organizations to participate in the Museum's twice a year, "Astronomy Day" on Thursday, October 2, from 5-9pm.
The SAS has been provided a display table below the SR-71 Blackbird aircraft.  Any SAS astronomer interested in representing the SAS for this fun and valueable education and public outreach activity is encouraged to contact D. Ingram. At least 4 SAS members are needed to share slots for this 4 hour event.  This is a Wells Fargo  Free 1st Thursday event.  Admission is free to the public, families and friends for a full evening of Museum events and displays.

    We host many volunteer organizations who set up interactive displays / talk to students & families about their science related field. It is a very exciting evening! We host a casual dinner for all our volunteers beforehand. We would love to host SAS to get students excited and educated in the field of astronomy. Possibly, you can bring a telescope?

    A Night with the Planets & Stars

    Jon Bearscove's Galileo Astronomy Unclub (GAU) has been asked to conduct a large-scale event under the stars for Rainier Middle School in Auburn. This event may have 300 or more students/parents. Jon and I are contacting SAS members and local astronomy organizations for volunteers with telescopes to assist in this event. Volunteers will set up telescopes in a large school courtyard.
