This is the same site used by the Table Mountain Star Party. You can also use the site freely at other times. See the TMSP site for details, pictures and a map.
The site is at about 5000 feet and offers a panoramic sky view. There's plenty of free camping sites, although you should have a Northwest Forest Pass to use this area.
