Overview
Star Parties Revisited: As amateur astronomers, we like to get outside and use our telescopes and share the night sky with others. Star parties take place around our local community and around the world and no two are the same.
Former SAS President Jon Bearscove will share his experience in attending everything from local star parties to the largest star party in the world complete with rock concerts. He will emphasize the types of star parties, what to expect, and rules of the road. Want to use your smartphone or tablet at a star party? He'll cover tips and tricks for maximizing your fun without getting in trouble. He will also showcase his recently updated "Star Party in a Box."

Star Parties: Table Mountain and Goldendale
Wed at 07:30 PMOpen to PublicMaxine Nagel of the SAS will talk about this summer's Table Mountain Star Party, one of the Pacific Northwest area's main observing events of the year. Due to wildfire damage at the usual Table Mountain site, this year's event was held at an alternate location. Maxine will show photos from the event and discuss the new site and its characteristics. Habitable Worlds and Life in the Cosmos
