    Topic: Planetary/Lunar Imaging Nik Joshi will be discussing techniques and best practices for planetary and lunar imaging. With the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, there is no better time to start imaging the moon! This group meets to discuss imaging and processing techniques. No experience or special equipment required! Meets second Tuesday of the month in the Redbarn Classrom at the Museum of Flight.

    The SAS Board Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Museum of Flight in the Red Barn Classroom. All SAS Board meetings are open to the public. Due to the scheduling requirements of the extensive Apollo 11 events, this currently posted, correctly rescheduled July 14 date is now the official and absolutely accurate date on which our July Board Meeting will occur. Please note the change on personal calendars.

    In July the SAS will be continuing our celebration of the 50th anaversarry of the Apollo moon landing. The Seattle Astronomical Society's Astrophotography Special Instrest group, lead by Matt Dahl and Jon Minnick, will be discussing and answering questions about photographing the Moon.     This star party offers another opportunity each month to observe under a dark sky. It's open to all SAS members but is specifically designed to orient new members to dark-sky protocol. Although dark-sky etiquette is expected (see below), experienced members will be on hand to help newcomers learn the ropes.     Always scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our next Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 9:00 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.
