About
My father once said to me when I was 7 or 8 years old that to look into the past, just look up! It was really hard to grasp the concept at that time, but it made so much more sense as I studied Math and Physics. We lived away from city lights, so I feel lucky to have seen the Milky way arc most nights from our terrace! The first time I saw Saturn through my 70 mm TASCO refractor, it took my breath away and that feeling never gets old. After meeting the passionate SAS volunteers, I got introduced to the Messiers list and find joy to find them in the night sky.
By profession, I have taught Math to middle and high school kids past 20 years. Now, I am a stay-at-home mom deriving joy in various volunteer roles - being my son's HS Robotics team's Booster president, boy scout troop service committee chair, volunteering in SAS outreach programs and pursuing my hobbies like portrait photography and learning piano! :D
On clear summer nights, I sometimes organize community star parties for neighbourhood families. The best outcome of these events is the awareness about extent of light pollution in cities.
