    Covington Parks & Recreation sponsors monthly star parties observing the moon, planets, constellations and interesting astronomical objects. Volunteer astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society and Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society will provide telescopes and assist guests of all ages to view available celestial objects of the season.     Please join us for an evening of learning about the universe by observing interesting astronomical objects, including the moon, constellations, planets, and stars. Telescopes and/or binoculars will be provided by SAS volunteers, but participants are also welcome to bring their telescopes. Also, participants might want to bring their favorite cell phone sky app or a sky map from www.skymaps.com , but these helps are not required. Dress warmly.

    Topic: 3D Printing Telescope Parts and Accessories Calvin will cover, among other things, some basic do's and don'ts of 3D printing, considerations, 3D printers, modeling tools along with a short demo of designing a part in Autodesk Fusion 360 This group meets to discuss imaging and processing techniques. No experience or special equipment required! Meets second Tuesday of the month in the Red Barn Classroom of the Museum of Flight.

    This star party offers another opportunity each month to observe under a dark sky. It's open to all SAS members but is specifically designed to orient new members to dark-sky protocol. Although dark-sky etiquette is expected (see below), experienced members will be on hand to help newcomers learn the ropes. The Third Quarter Star Party is for SAS members only and will be on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. if weather permits.

    Always scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our next Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be held on Saturday, November 23, from 6:00 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.
