About the Event
This public stargazing event is authorized by the City of Duvall Parks & Recreation Department and is free of charge. Experienced astronomer volunteers from the Seattle Astronomical Society (SAS) bring their telescopes and binoculars to share with the public. Everyone is welcome, including families with children. Feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars. Please note that no food or drink is allowed on the fields.
8:30pm - 9:00pm - Setup - Bring your own telescope and Seattle Astronomical Society members can help you out and answer your questions. Field lights will turn off at 9pm.
9:00pm - 1am - Stargazing - Highlights to include open star clusters, globular clusters, double stars, nebula, galaxies, Saturn, and the 3rd quarter Moon. There is slight chance to see some Perseid meteors as that meteor shower is winding down from the peak on August 13th.
