About the Event
Piney Woods is a 5 acre site near Goldendale Washington. The skies are dark here, between bortle 2 and 3. It is a very rural area but the town of Goldendale is 15 minutes away by car with just about all the amenities you need. Some people like to get a room at one of the motels, sleep there during the day, take a shower, eat in town then come out to the site at night for observing. Others like to setup tents, sleep in their vehicle, or bring an RV.
April and May the weather was against us. Fingers crossed for May and a nice Memorial Day weekend at Piney Woods Dark Sky Retreat.
The grass is coming in well on the telescope field. We are keeping people off the field to give the grass as much opportunity to set and grow. Members will be able to setup their…
