I might be going on a trip into almost the middle of nowhere, eastern Washington, with my dad, before I go off to college. Does anyone have any tips for lining up my Canon Rebel Camera with the Milky Way? I have looked, and it seems as if I can shoot some of it before the moon rises. And also, does anyone have any tips I can use to maximize this 2-night trip? I use a Celestron NextStar 8SE and my iPhone 8, and I might be getting the SeeStar S30 pro beforehand.

I've been a member for a few months, and managed to make it to one of the meetings, but I feel like I'm missing something. Is there a forum or something where y'all congregate to discuss things? For instance, I'm interested in astrophotography, but when I sign up for that special interest group, I don't get the link to the webex and I have no way to contact the organizer. I sure would like to get involved more, but I'm just not seeing how. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello! I am a new member. I've been a photographer since I was a teen, and in the few years I've branched in to astrophotography. And this needs me to have to apologize for the weather, as I got my newest astrocam back in late October, and we've had horrible weather ever since. Hopefully the weather curse lifts soon. Anyway, I look forward to meeting many of you at the star parties.
