Reminder for Astrophotography Special Interest Group Meeting

Posted about 5 years ago

This is just a friendly reminder that the Astrophotography Special Interest Group Meeting (astrophotography event) is scheduled for Jan 08, 2019, 07:00 PM. Please come out and join us!

There has been a change in schedule for speakers for this month (the originally scheduled talk for this month has been moved to March).  We are fortunate that renowned astrophotographer and Technical Services Manager at Planewave Instruments, Matt Dieterich, will be in town and has graciously agreed to speak to our group!  He will be giving a talk entitled, "Nightscapes, How Can Our Astroimages Transcend the Digital World?"  We look forward to seeing you all there!

Overview

Topic: Nightscapes, How Can Our Astroimages Transcend the Digital World?

How can our astrophotos last forever in today’s digital society? For many, the enjoyment is in capturing and processing an astrophoto, but are there more beneficial ways to promote our work outside the digital world? The answer is yes, and we should share our astrophotography in a manner that reaches larger audiences and lasts for future generations.  For full summary, see "Notes" section below.

This group meets to discuss imaging and processing techniques. No experience or special equipment required!

Meets second Tuesday of the month in the Red Barn Classroom at the Museum of Flight.
