2024 Banquet

This year we move to a new venue, the Burke Museum . The space is being completely remodeled and we will be one of the first groups to use it. The Burke is on the grounds of the Seattle campus of the University of Washington, just across the street from the Theodor Jacobsen Observatory.

Our theme this year is NASA's Heliophysics Big Year. With the annular eclipse last fall and the total eclipse this spring plus all the exciting instruments scanning and watching the sun, this will be a big year for Heliophysics.

Dinner

To pay honor to the indigenous people that first called this area home, we chose Off the Rez, a Native-owned (Blackfeet tribe) catering company here in Seattle. They specialize in Native indigenous foods made from scratch by hand.

Wild Rice Pilaf

Simple green salad

There will be water, coffee, iced tea, and soda available.

This year we will have a bar offering wine or beer for purchase.

Tickets

Ticket prices this year will be $75 for members and $95 for non members. In the past we have been asked to allow a member to reserve a full table. This year purchasing 10 tickets will lock in a whole table under your name. We acknowledge that these are tough times, for those members needing financial assistance please contact Jenn at membership@seattleastro.org.

Star Field Complex fundriser

This year we will have an expanded auction and a Paddle Raise to get us across the line and complete phase 2 fundraising for the Star Field Complex dark sky site. Phase 2 is for initial road and telescope field development. Funds collected beyond phase 2 goals will go towards phase 3 like telescope pads, storage containers, a shelter, and an eventual vault toilet.
