Paramount Park Star Party for Paramount Park Star Party

Weather permitting the Paramount Park Star Party will be held Saturday, August 30th starting at dusk. I will be setting up early and welcome everyone to join me. See you there.

Board Changes

SAS President Judy Wokoun has announced her resignation from the board due to unforeseen personal circumstances.  Denis Janky has been appointed by the SAS board to replace Judy as president until the board elections in November.  Judy will remain on the board as a nonvoting trustee.  We thank Judy for her service and wish her the best.

Ward Wins Webmaster Award!

We are thrilled to report that Ward Vuillemot has won the 2014 Astronomical League Webmaster Award!  This award honors the webmaster who has done the most outstanding job of website design and administration.  The new SAS website was launched in June of 2013 and was the culmination of many hours of hard work by the website team, especially Ward.  We are very excited for both Ward and the SAS that our website has been singled out for this honor, and we hope you enjoy the site as well.  Stay tuned for formal announcements in Reflector magazine (which SAS members receive) and on the Astronomical League website.  Congratulations, Ward!

SAS Equipment Manager Found!

Thank you to everyone who responded for our call to volunteer as SAS Equipment Manager.   Please welcome Sara O'Connell, who is our new Equipment Manager, along with Martin who is helping her out.
