More Information
Despite the long twilight and thin clouds moving in from the south, we enjoyed another successful public star party at Green Lake on June 20. From 9 until after 11 p,m., Paul, Peter, and Mike entertained a large and enthusiastic crowd with views of the crescent moon, Jupiter, and Saturn from the knoll by the dock. Mary covered the parking lot crowd because the great view of the conjunction of the crescent moon, Jupiter, and Venus had attracted the attention of many people in and near the parking lot. They were standing in groups, viewing the eclipse and asking questions about the amazing sight. My telescope and I remained near the parking lot because the Isosceles triangle formed by the conjunction was extremely visible between the trees near the parking lot. That beautiful triangle really attracted the attention and interest of everyone.
