Seattle's usually cloudy November skies cleared to allow a very unusual event: a November star party in normally cloudy Seattle, possibly the first November in Seattle star party in history!  Despite the freezing temperatures, the turnout for this star party was quite large at more than forty people.  A group of students from the Shoreline District as well as other individuals and families turned out to see the astronomical objects visible in the unusually clear skies.  Because the bright planets currently are rising in the early morning and were unavailable for this event, the gibbous moon and many binary stars were the primary objects of observation.  Two indefatigable and dedicated SAS astronomers braved the freezing temperature to make their telescopes available for public observation and to guide that observation.  Thanks to Mike and Pete for making this memorable event possible!
