    Reminder

It is this time of the year when we have our annual Goldendale Star Party. The dates are May 25 to May 29th.  I see that some people have already indicated that they will attend and I hope that we have a lot more.

Since last year, we have acquired new members and I am always asked the same questions: where do I sign up or is it too late to send in my registration form?

The Goldendale Star Party is not like other events like Table Mountain. The field we use at Brooks Memorial State Park is already reserved and the club pays the cost of the members attending. So just show up and enjoy.

If you should bring a guest that is not a member of the club, they will be required to pay $10.00 and sign a waiver.

There was an issue that came up last year and that was that people were coming into the camp area after dark. Every year more and more people are doing astro-imaging and at dusk they are already setting up equipment that is sensitive to any kind of light. So, car head lights really are a distraction. I would ask everyone to plan their trip to be in the viewing field before dark. And of course, this is a red light only Star Party.

Because the meet is on the 25th of this month, which is a little early, the weather may be a little more unpredictable. So plan on dressing warm, day and night.  As far out as I am able to see the weather forecast, it doesn't look too bad.

As of today, the forecast for Goldendale is:

    Thursday, the 25th: Partly Cloudy 73/47 F; 0 precip. 35% Humidity

    Friday, the 26th: Partly Cloudy  70/45 F. 0 precip. 39% Humidity

    Saturday the 27th; Sunny 71/47 F. 0 precip. 37% Humidity

    Sunday the 28th. Mostly Sunny 72/46 F. 0 precip. 40% Humidity

    Monday the 29th. Partly Cloudy 72/47 F. 0 Prcip. 40

Can't wait to see everyone at Brooks Memorial,
