Overview
The Museum of Flight has invited Puget Sound area astronomy societies and space organizations to participate in the Museum's twice a year, "Astronomy Day" on Thursday, October 5th, from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
The SAS has been provided a display table below the SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. Any SAS astronomer interested in representing the SAS for this fun and valuable education and public outreach activity is encouraged to contact Dave Ingram at education@seattleastro.org. At least 4 SAS members are needed to share slots for this 4 hour event. This is a Wells Fargo Free 1st Thursday event. Admission is free to the public, families and friends for a full evening of Museum events and displays.

More Information
Come celebrate World Space Week and look up at the night sky with the Seattle Astronomical Society, the Museum of Flight, Wells Fargo and other local groups! Local science and astronomy clubs will share their knowledge of the heavens with viewing opportunities through their telescopes (weather permitting). Enjoy additional educational activities throughout the evening.
On the first Thursday of each month, the Museum stays open late – and admission is FREE. Enjoy the Museum's Great Gallery, Personal Courage Wing, Simonyi Space Gallery, Aviation Pavilion, and more from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, courtesy of Wells Fargo.
The Museum Store and both Cafés will also remain open for extended hours

International Observe the Moon Night...Day!
Sat at 09:00 AMOpen to PublicAmateur astronomers from area astronomy societies will chat with library patrons and answer questions as they interact with our tables of hands-on activities related to the moon. The Library is having a concurrent series of short portable planetarium shows, but in between shows patrons will be doing other activities--a great chance to talk to your experts.
