Covington Parks and Recreation and area amateur astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society, Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society, and Tacoma Astronomical Society will provide the public with telescope views of January's first quarter moon, planets, stars, clusters, galaxies and other celestial objects. These star parties are held on the west side of the soccer field. This event is free to the public and is family and child friendly. Dress warmly. Bring a dim, red flashlight. Sat at 06:00 PMSAS Members OnlyAlways scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our next Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be held on Saturday, January 13, from 6 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.

Third Quarter Moon Members-Only Star Party
Sat at 07:30 PMSAS Members OnlyThis star party offers another opportunity each month to observe under a dark sky. It's open to all SAS members but is specifically designed to orient new members to dark-sky protocol. Although dark-sky etiquette is expected (see below), experienced members will be on hand to help newcomers learn the ropes. The Third Quarter Star Party is for SAS members only and will be on Saturday, February 10th, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. if weather permits.
