Overview

The Seattle Astronomical Society will have two tables as a "hands-on" exhibitor at the Shoreline STEM Festival

The date is Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10am-1pm at Shoreline Community College.

The STEM Festival draws students and adults totaling 400+ K-12 students and family members.

Light refreshments will be provided for volunteers.

David Ingram is the SAS focal point.

He will need at least 4 volunteers that can provide 1-2 hours each. Dave will arrive at 9:30am to set up and will stay until 1:45pm for teardown. He would like at least one volunteer to arrive early and then several to stay until teardown after 1pm. Please contact him at education@seattleastro.org if you would like to help out, or stop by the booth and say hi!

    This Green Lake Park Public Star Party (outreach event) scheduled for Apr 21, 2018, 08:00 PM is canceled due to inclement weather, a currently very cloudy sky.  Both the Clear Sky Chart and National Weather Service forecasts predict a cloudy sky tonight until early Sunday morning, so observing will not be possible.  But don't forget the Lyrid Meteor Shower which peaks this weekend; and because  some stray meteors are often visible before and after the peak time, limited meteor viewing may be possible on Sunday night when a clear sky is predicted.
