Overview

Covington Parks & Recreation sponsors monthly star parties observing the moon, planets, constellations and interesting astronomical objects. Volunteer astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society and Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society will provide telescopes and assist guests of all ages to view available celestial objects of the season.
It is especially important to dress warmly and bring only dim, red lights. No white flashlights please.
Visit the Skymaps web site <www.skymaps.com> to discover the viewable objects for the current month. Print and bring your personal observing plan to the volunteer astronomers to see how many night sky objects you can see for yourself.

    Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party

    Always scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our next Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be held on Saturday, November 10, from 7:00 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.

    Reminder —

    Reminder, the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party  is tonight. Try to arrive before 6pm. The advertised 7pm start time was not adjusted for the end of Daylight Savings Time. Expected temperature will be 40-35 F with 80% humidity. Dress warm and bring your dew protection! There may be patchy fog after 10pm so come early to maximize your observing time.
