Covington Parks & Recreation sponsors monthly star parties observing the moon, planets, constellations and interesting astronomical objects. Volunteer astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society and Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society will provide telescopes and assist guests of all ages to view available celestial objects of the season.

It is especially important to dress warmly and bring only dim, red lights. No white flashlights please.
Visit the Skymaps web site <www.skymaps.com> to discover the viewable objects for the current month. Print and bring your personal observing plan to the volunteer astronomers to see how many night sky objects you can see for yourself.

    Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party

    Always scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our next Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be held on Saturday, June 1, from 8:00 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.

    Paramount School Park Public Star Party

    Please join us for an evening of learning about the universe by observing interesting astronomical objects, including the moon, constellations, planets, and stars. Telescopes and/or binoculars will be provided by SAS volunteers, but participants are also welcome to bring their telescopes. Also, participants might want to bring their favorite cell phone sky app or a sky map from www.skymaps.com , but these helps are not required. Dress warmly.
