This Public Star Party in Kent GRNRA (outreach event) is scheduled for Mar 24, 2018, 08:00 PM.

Kent Parks and area amateur astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society, Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society, and Tacoma Astronomical Society will provide the public with telescope views of March's first quarter moon, planets, stars, clusters, galaxies and other celestial objects. These star parties are held at the Green River Natural Resource Area (GRNRA).  Meet for monthly star parties at the "Lagoon" parking lot on the west side of the Green River Natural Resource Area, 22209 Russell Road, Kent, WA 98032. This event is free to the public and is family and child friendly.  Dress warmly. Bring a dim, red flashlight.  Please bring no white lights!  Print and bring your own copy of the latest monthly star chart found a www.skymaps.com

Both the Clear Sky Chart and National Weather Service forecasts predict a cloudy sky tonight until early Sunday morning, so observing will not be possible. But don't forget the Lyrid Meteor Shower which peaks this weekend; and because some stray meteors are often visible before and after the peak time, limited meteor viewing ... more
